Demand Response
DR events occur in the summer on hot days when demand on the grid is extremely high during peak hours usually 11am -6pm, and the utilities need to shed kw demand to prevent brown outs, black outs, and avoid using costly peaker plants. Local utilities often provide financial incentives to customers to participate.
