Depending on the utility, financial incentive is offered to offset the cost to install Thermal Energy Storage system at your facility.
- Avoid high on-peak daytime demand charges by freezing ice at night off-peak when energy costs are low and using it to cool the building during the daytime.
- iME along with our partners, Ram Air Engineering (Ram),and Advanced Energy Systems have experience installing, servicing and monitoring the various Ice TES systems. Depending on the size of the plant and space available for an ice storage tank, we partial-load shift or full-load shift TES systems.
- Partial storage is used for a Chiller Plant retrofit where tank space is an issue and is sized to handle part of the peak load. Replacing a chiller with a partial storage system reduces the chiller size and thus reduces the chiller plant size and partially shifts load to nighttime.
- Full load shift systems replace an entire chiller plant and permanently shift load to nighttime.
- Control those high-peak demand charges because you are no longer running the chiller during peak hours and there is no full-size chiller to accidentally set a massive electrical peak.
